  • 1st Grade Supply List

    We usually go through this amount in a year

    • 4 24-count crayons

    • 1 10 or 12 count broad line washable markers
    • 1 school supply box (not a zipper pouch) – large enough to fit crayons and markers
    • 1 backpack (not a rolling backpack, please)
    • 2 spiral notebooks (at least 70 pages)
    • 1 high-quality white t-shirt 1–2 sizes bigger than your child so it will fit all year. Each class will tie-dye their shirts in their classroom color. (100% cotton shirts dye the best.)
    • Sturdy, comfortable headphones – no earbuds, no rechargeable, no Bluetooth
    • 4 thin black Expo markers
    • 1 2-pocket folder
    • The school will purchase all pencils. Please do not send any pencils to school with your child.

    Donations are always accepted but never required: tissues, Ziploc bags, and disinfectant wipes.

    If your student is enrolled in Orchestra:

    • A pencil to travel with them to Hobbs
    • An instrument after Instrument Night (~2 weeks after school starts)

    • Concert dressy or formal black attire for performances

Immunizations & Birth Certificate Requirements

 

To complete your child’s registration for Dean Goodsell Elementary, you must provide both a birth certificate and up-to-date immunization records. You can:

  • Upload them during the online registration process, or

  • Bring them to the school office at Dean Goodsell Elementary (185 W Center St.)

Please note: Your child will not be assigned a teacher until both documents are on file.


Required Immunizations for Elementary Students:

  • 5 doses – DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)

  • 4 doses – Polio

  • 2 doses – MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

  • 2 doses – Varicella (Chickenpox)

  • 3 doses – Hepatitis B

  • 2 doses – Hepatitis A


State Law Compliance:

All students in the Shelley School District are required to be immunized in accordance with Idaho State Law or have an approved exemption form on file.
Exemption forms are available upon request in the school office.

Additional Requirement:
Students 16 years and older must receive the meningococcal vaccine before entering their senior year.

Non-Resident Enrollment Form

Out-of-District (Non-Resident) Enrollment

 

Families who live outside the Shelley School District boundaries must complete a Non-Resident Open Enrollment Application each year for their child to attend one of our schools.

  • Applications are reviewed based on space availability, behavior, and program capacity.

  • Students with recent suspensions, expulsions, or ongoing discipline issues may be denied.

  • Providing false or incomplete information can result in denial or removal at any time.

Application Timeline (per Idaho Code 33-1402):

  • Apply by February 1 for the next school year

  • Notification by March 31

  • Late applications must include a waiver letter from your home district
