Dear Parents and Guardians of Soon-to-Be 5th Graders,
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome your child to Stuart Elementary next year! Moving up to 5th grade is such an exciting time, and we cannot wait to meet all of our incoming students and families.
At Stuart, we prioritize meaningful relationships. As part of our Tripod Schedule, every student is placed on one of two supportive teams designed to create a sense of belonging and connection.

Each pod works closely together to create a smaller learning community within our school. Within these diverse pods, we also offer targeted support for students who benefit from additional reinforcement, as well as advanced opportunities for those ready for greater academic challenges. No matter where your child is starting, our school wide goal this year is to reach every student where they are and prepare them for a bright and successful future.
We are also excited to invite you to our combined Registration and Open House event Tuesday, August 11th from 12:00-4:00pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to:
– Bring in their classroom supplies (Put them in their 1st Period Classroom)
– Meet their teachers
– Set up transportation details
– Learn about school lunch procedures and options
This event is always a highlight of the summer and helps everyone start the year feeling confident and prepared. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child’s journey. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things our new 5th graders will accomplish next year at Stuart Elementary! Please keep an eye out for more information over the summer. Dear Parents and Guardians of Incoming 6th Graders,
We are excited to welcome your child to their 6th grade year at Stuart Elementary! This is an important transition year, and we look forward to supporting students as they take on greater independence and new opportunities. The 6th Grade team is known as the Potato Pals!
One of the biggest changes students will experience is moving from our Tripod Schedule to a traditional 7-period day. However, this transition allows students to rotate between classes and teachers, helping them prepare for middle school expectations. Please note that if your student is taking an Orchestra, Choir, or Band class they will be transporting to Hobbs for their electives during the day.
We are also excited to invite you to our combined Registration and Open House event: Tuesday, August 11th from 12:00–4:00 PM.
This is a great opportunity for students and families to:
- Pick up student schedules
- Meet teachers
- Practice opening lockers and using locker combinations
- Drop off school materials in lockers (optional)
- Set up transportation plans
- Learn about school lunch procedures and options
Please note: Locker combinations must be turned into the office during registration.
This event is designed to help students feel confident and prepared for the first day of school, especially with the added independence that comes with 6th grade.
We are committed to creating a supportive environment where every student is challenged, connected, and prepared for success as they move toward middle school.
